Bonded Spirit Bluegrass Festival 2024

Bonded Spirit Bluegrass Festival and Cocktail Competition 2024

On Saturday, March 2nd Court St. in Covington was alive with the rhythmic twang and soulful melodies of bluegrass music as we celebrated Covington’s own John G. Carlisle and the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897 with a cocktail competition and Grammy-nominated bluegrass music. The Goodwin Brothers brought a high energy performance to the Roebling Rickhouse with plenty of heart, while Nashville’s Sister Sadie and Cincy Region’s Moonshine Drive also thrilled the crowd with their fresh, enthusiastic performances.

VIP attendees in the Bourbon Lounge were treated to tastings from Revival Vintage Spirits and Bottle Shop and McBrayer Legacy Spirits. Revival treated VIPs to samplings of a 1970s Jim Beam and a 1954 Old Granddad next to its modern counterpart. McBrayer Legacy Spirits brought samples of their Cedar Brook Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Legacy Collection – Original Recipe W.H. McBrayer Straight Bourbon Whiskey, and their Old McBrayer Bottled in Bond Bourbon.

Back in the Roebling Rickhouse, VIP and Roebling Rickhouse ticket holders were delighted by the cocktails from the 6 talented bartenders, selected by The Bourbon Review, competing in the Bottled in Bond cocktail competition. Each of the six cocktails were unique and presented a fresh take on what a Bottled in Bond bourbon could bring to a drink. If you happened to not pick up your own set of bartender trading cards, fear not. We are bringing you the recipes so that you can create your own delicious Bottled in Bond cocktail.
