Meet The B-Line®: The Globe

Welcome back friends to our Meet the B-Line series where Dot (co-worker, photographer, Cincinnati Reds enthusiast) and I give an inside view of the restaurants, bars and distilleries that make up Northern Kentucky’s self-guided bourbon experience, The B-Line. On today’s episode, I mean… in this article, we stopped in for some tasty cocktails at The Globe.

Located on 12 East 5th Street in the Covington Business District, The Globe was established in 2016 by Tony and Amy Milburn. Housed in a former gentlemen’s club, the owners wanted to create an inclusive, community-oriented bar that features a variety of Kentucky and regional craft beers and cocktails as well as an easy, casual, modern vibe. Their menu features a crafted cocktail list, beer, wine and over 100 Kentucky bourbons as well as a variety of whiskey, rum, vodka, and gin. You can find $3 draft specials daily, Wednesdays from open to close features happy hour pricing, and if you are enjoying what you’re sipping, ask about their bottle sales!

With a fully stocked bar, The Globe aims to ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy, including non-alcoholic beverages. Here are the drinks that Dot and I sampled.

What We Drank

A Paper Plane

After a recommendation from the knowledgeable bartender, Dot ordered this tasty cocktail made with While Turkey 101 Rye, Aperol, Amaro Nonino and lemon.

La Favorite Daiquiri

Since the weather has been warming up lately, I wanted a summer’s day cocktail to push any lingering winter blues away. So, I went with this light and fruity drink made with Rhum Agricole, OFTD Rum, lemon juice, pineapple juice and strawberry syrup.

After grabbing our drinks, Dot and I headed toward the back of the bar where there are an array of tables, chairs, and comfy couches to choose from. Snagging a plush and spacious love seat, Dot and I were able to kick back after a busy day of work and unwind. Taking in the space around us, we both agree that this cozy and inviting space is perfect for after work drinks, getting together with friends, and date night. The Globe also has a variety of board games to choose from including the classics like Scrabble, Connect 4, Battleship and one of my all-time favorites, Sorry! On those warmer days, take your drink outside to their quaint and intimate patio on the side. This is a great spot for a little privacy to get to know your date or just having that much needed vent session with your friend.

I hope you have enjoyed this quick glimpse of The Globe, and highly encourage you to stop by. Be sure to check their website for hours of operation as they vary. We also encourage you to keep checking The B-Line calendar of events showcasing all the fun and exciting events happening at the different stops each month.
